Free breakfast and lunch for Oconee students

USDA has extended a waiver that permits all Oconee school children, regardless of income, to enjoy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge.  The waiver is valid through December 31 or until congressional approved funding runs out.  It further allows districts to refund the cost of student meals purchased between September 1 and 16.  The waiver also applies to at home students.  Meals for them may be picked up each Thursday at the Bountyland Education Campus, formerly Hamilton Career Center.  Because the waiver is to expire at the end of the calendar year, families are encouraged to still complete a form so that their children may continue to receive reduced-price meals after that date.
