For FOCUS Broadband, more patience needed

For those with a hankering to acquire high-speed Internet service, a little more patience will be required, according to the Oconee County administrator. The deadline came this week for a new request-for-proposals to provide services for the project. Scott Moulder, county administrator, said from the start the Broadband FOCUS work was projected as a three-year project—dating from that summer 2010 announcement at the Hamilton Career Center that Oconee had been awarded a multi-million dollar federal grant to pay for most of the work. “….We knew it was going to be a three-year deal before we could get the construction in place. I’m excited. And am I eager? Absolutely,” told said this morning.
