Federal money granted to Oconee religious school

The Foothills Christian School in Westminster will share in federal funding to be distributed among 19 non-public schools in the state.  The school gets $175 thousand from an allocation of the second round of Emergency Assistance to Non-Public Schools program, first authorized under the 2021 Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act and continued under the American Rescue Plan.  The South Carolina Department of Education made the announcement.  Molly Spearman, superintendent, said, “Congress appropriated EANS funding to states to ensure that children who attend private and parochial schools have access to the resources needed to rebound from the pandemic.”
