EVs the genesis for new Clemson University school

The new School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at Clemson University places mechanical engineering and automotive engineering under one umbrella.  And the university says the South’s rise in building electric vehicles and their batteries is behind the move to establish a new school for engineering students.  Primarily, most mechanical engineers will locate on the main campus; most automotive engineers, at Clemson’s International Center for Automotive Research at Greenville.  The school, first approved in October by the board of trustees, is home to 66 faculty members and has the largest enrollment in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences, with about 780 undergraduates and 400 graduate students.
