Empowering those living with mental illness
An effort will be made to create a “clubhouse” environment for those who live with mental illness in Oconee, Anderson, and Pickens counties. An event to launch an AOP Clubhouse for Oconee, Anderson, and Pickens counties takes place 9 o’clock Thursday morning, October 23 at the Pendleton Methodist Church in Pendleton. Community members, local leaders, mental health advocates, and faith-based organizations are invited to attend learn more about a program in which members take part in meal preparations, education workshops, and vocational opportunities. Zeke Stephenson, director of community impact at the United Way of Anderson, chairs the AOP Clubhouse Board.
