Electrical death at workplace

A nine-plus year worker at West Union’s Itron plant died yesterday from what the coroner calls an electrical injury while on the job. According to Coroner Karl Addis, Ronald “Ron” Eugene Vandiver sustained an electrical injury to both hands and he collapsed in a hallway in cardiac arrest. The 52-year old Clarkesville, Georgia resident worked as a senior lab technician in the factory that makes electric meters. A 9-1-1 call was received just before the noon hour. Resuscitation efforts were made by plant personnel, first responders, and the EMS. Vandiver was pronounced dead at 12:44 pm.
