Electric bike accident turned fatal

Greenville Memorial Hospital has notified Tommy Pope, deputy Pickens County coroner, of the death of a Clemson man involved in an apparent single-vehicle accident on March 3 while operating an electric bicycle.  The deputy coroner learned of the death of Martin Levins yesterday — the same day EMS went to the home of the 63-year-old Levins in response to a complaint of respiratory distress.  The death, attributed to complications from injuries in the accident, is being investigated by the coroner’s office, the Clemson police, and the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.
