Editorial—-Be Sure to Vote

Regardless of how weary this election year has been, all eligible voters should be sure they cast their votes. And this applies, especially to Oconee County voters. They thought they were going to decide a lot of local races in June, but the cancellation of the Republican primary simply pushed most things to November. And, of course, November 6 is the day that the entire country decides the office of President.

Apart from all of those local races that have stirred emotions for most of 2012, Oconeeans should be sure to fill out their ballot carefully so as not to miss a pair of referenda. Oconee County is asking you to vote yes or no on a sewer question. And Oconeeans, along with all South Carolina voters, decide whether they want their future governors and lieutenant governors to run as a ticket—or run separately, as they do now.

That’s our view. What’s yours?
