Duncan visits state agency facilities near Seneca

For the first time, South Carolina’s 3rd District congressman got to see the expanded facilities of the Oconee-Pickens office on the State Vocational and Rehabilitation Department on the Wells Highway.  Jeff Duncan was an invited guest of Dan Alexander, the Seneca mayor who works at Voc Rehab.   The occasion was also a chance for reporters to query Republican Duncan about some of the top issues – including the controversial visit to Taiwan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.  Duncan’s remarks about that made for a rare time when the Republican and the Democrat appeared to be on the same side of an issue.  And that is U-S support for Taiwan to the distress of China.   Officially, however, the U-S adheres to a “One China” policy.  It has been defined as diplomatic acknowledgment of China’s position that there is only one Chinese government.
