Drone gives panoramic view of new school

Hard-hat tours of a new building are one thing, but you get a comprehensive look at a new construction from above. The Oconee school trustees were treated last night to a drone video look of the progress far on the new Hamilton Career and Technology Center on n. highway 11. Steve Hanvey, associate superintendent, served as narrator and remarked that the project is progressing and on pace to open in August. Hanvey credits district employee Ken Williams with developing a skill as a drone pilot, and Williams’ latest drone video of construction was taken on the 33rd week of the work. The video shows the complex will dwarf the adjoining satellite campus of Tri-County Technical College and will feature a door to be used by career center students to walk from their classes to courses offered by the college.
