Dorsey Eugene Henderson

Dorsey Eugene Henderson was born in Seneca, SC as 1 of 6 children brought from the union of James and Vada Keels. Dorsey was a graduate of Blue Ridge High School and later a mail clerk and retiree of Duke Power.

Dorsey was married in 1968 to Harold Henderson. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage together until his death. From their union, two wonderful children were born, Rodney and Karen. Sadly, her son preceded her in death, but she is survived by her daughter.

She was a devoted loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was a kind, caring person that always took care of her family. She was a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her favorite color was lavender, and she loved enjoying Jehovah’s creation. Dorsey enjoyed being outside and relaxing on her swing and lived for yearly vacations with her family. She was also a great cook, known for her fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, blackberry cobbler and broccoli cornbread. She loved good country cooked meals, like cornbread and buttermilk. She loved her 3 grandchildren dearly, (Rodney, Karley and Makaela.) She was always at every important event for the kids and family. Family was everything to her.

She became a baptized, devoted, and faithful Jehovah’s Witness. Dorsey also enjoyed going to gatherings and celebrations with her friends in the warm Christian brotherhood. She loved helping people to learn about Jehovah and devoted much of her time and energy sharing the hope of everlasting life on earth with others.

Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Psalm 37:29 “The righteous will possess the earth. They will live forever on it.”

She believed wholeheartedly that the fulfillment of these scriptures will come true when Gods kingdom begins ruling the earth and shared this hope with all she could.

Sadly, Dorsey lost her battle with multiple myeloma (bone cancer) on May 4, 2021.Mourning her passing are her daughter, Karen Henderson-Rogers (Shaun), grandchildren Rodney Harper, Karley Hunt and Makaela Rogers, Sisters Alberta Poole and Carrie Scott, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, James and Vada Keels, her sisters Everlena Sims, Easter Alexander, her brother R.L Keels, her son Rodney Henderson and her husband Harold Henderson.
