DON COWART

Westminster – Don Hudson Cowart, 78, loving companion of Brenda Bates, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House.

Born on September 13, 1946, in Franklin, North Carolina, Don was the son of the late Ned Calvin and Violet Lee Ledford Cowart. Don was a veteran of the United States Army who served in Vietnam. He was a jack of trades and enjoyed his motorcycles and old cars. Don also enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors.

Don is survived by his beloved companion and her children, Brenda Bates, Lisa, Heath, Chasity; daughter, Tammy Bonner; grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, Amber, Torie Waldroop; sister, Nancy Chidester (Chuck); nephews and niece, Brian Chidester, Nathan Chidester (Lisa), Aaron Chidester, Terry Adcock (Mike); and special cousin, Boyce Queen.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his son, Chris Cowart, and his grandchild, Lex.

Per Don’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
