Dianne Gallimore Dorris

Born in Seneca, South Carolina, Dianne, 74, went to her Heavenly Home on December 8, 2021. She was the daughter of the late J. A. Gallimore and Virginia Fant Gallimore.  Dianne attended Seneca High School and was graduated from Stuart Hall School in Virginia.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and taught elementary school in Oak Ridge, Murfreesboro, and Easley. Dianne served as Vice President and board member of both Blue Ridge Broadcasting & The Journal Company and was a devoted full-time wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a gracious hostess who loved her family, her companion dog Magnus, and her many friends and neighbors. A Christian woman of Faith, Dianne loved the Lord.  She was baptized, confirmed, and married at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Seneca.  She served as docent and guide for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Pendelton.  Her final church home was St. John’s Anglican Church, Westminster.

 

Dianne was the widow of the late James H. (Jim) Dorris, Jr., and is survived by her son C. Marc Dorris, daughter-in-law Sylvia, and granddaughter Aubrey Grace Dorris of Knoxville TN, and brother C. Wayne Gallimore (Marty) of Seneca SC, and several nephews and nieces as well as several grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held in Seneca at a later date.
