Dewey Wayne Williams
Pendleton – Dewey Wayne Williams, 76, son of Ovalyn Land Williams and the late Percy Williams joined his dad in heaven at 8 am, Thursday, April 15th, 2021 at An-Med Medical Center in Anderson, South Carolina surrounded by his loving family.
Dewey was an avid country music fan, who enjoyed listening to Hank Williams Sr, and Johnny Cash, but his greatest love was attending Nascar races with his father Percy and watching races on the television.
Dewey is survived by his mother, Ovalyn Land Williams of Pendleton; brothers, Larry Williams and wife Wanda of Augusta, Georgia, Dennis Lane Williams and wife Nancy of Charleston; sisters, Betty Williams Kay of Pendleton and Kathy McAdams and husband Ricky of Townville, who he adored like a sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he is preceded by his grandparents, Henry and Leatha Collins Williams, and Oscar and Grace Weldon Land; and great-grandparents, George and Georgia Freeman Weldon.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Sunday, April 18th, 2021 at Sandifer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Chauga Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, 1:00 pm– 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 18th, 21 prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who cared for him over the last five months when he suffered so much pain, the Clinton Group Home, the Laurens Hospital, the nursing home at Linley Park in Anderson and last but not least An- Med Medical Center where their care and compassion was shown to both Dewey and his family. So, to the doctors, and the nursing staff please pat yourself on the back and accept this thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your care and love during this time.
