Detainee faces added charges

A 34-year-old man held in Oconee jail was served today with additional arrest warrants, according to the county sheriff’s office.  Charges of first degree burglary and assault and battery now face Jamel Deshawn Brown, who has addresses in both Seneca and Clemson.  According to arrest warrants, Brown is accused of breaking into a home on Utica’s Ames Street November 23 and assaulting an adult male by striking him in face and spitting on him.  In a separate investigation, the sheriff’s office says, Brown is charged with stealing a moped on the Singing Pines Road November 14.
