Dabo Swinney talks

Dabo Swinney noted that Clemson practiced under the lights inside Memorial Stadium to simulate the hostile, primetime environment they will face at LSU. Appearing on his first weekly Tiger Hour radio talk show of the season, the head coach acknowledged that his team is “as far as we can go at this point” and emphasized that they simply need to go play to find out where they stand. Swinney added that while Clemson boasts strong numbers and depth at defensive end, he still feels they are not quite where he wants them to be at defensive tackle. Looking ahead to his Tuesday press conference, Swinney will likely face tough questions regarding Clemson’s unresolved quarterback competition and his plan for replacing four missing starters along the offensive line.  When Swinney meets with reporters this morning at 11, the conversation will shift from fan-submitted call-in questions to strategic inquiries from the media.  Expect Swinney to be heavily pressed on who will take the first snap on Saturday night. Though redshirt sophomore Chris Vizzina has been considered the frontrunner through August, Swinney has kept his starting quarterback decision guarded tightly.
