Crowd for Walhalla mayor to expand tomorrow

The field of candidates for Walhalla mayor will expand tomorrow by at least one.  The two-term councilman, Tjay Bagwell, says he will make good on his intention to offer for mayor, and he’ll do that tomorrow at the county office of Registrations and Elections.  Councilman Dennis Owens and the incumbent, Danny Edwards, have previously qualified.  And there are indications that former councilman and mayor Randy Chastain will enter the race before Monday’s noon hour deadline.  Bagwell’s two terms on the council have been marked by change.  In an interview, he said that he believes that he and Owens and Edwards in the campaign will talk about spending money to further progress that has been made in the last eight years.  The difference?  Bagwell says, “I’ve been saying those things for years.”
