Clyde Doyle Stephens

Walhalla, SC— Clyde Doyle Stephens, 75, husband of Dorothy “Dottie” Broome Stephens, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at his home.

 

A native of Oconee County, SC, Mr. Stephens was son of the late Toy and Lula Pearson Stephens. He retired from the SCDOT, and was also a former police officer and Walmart employee. He attended Coneross Church of God.

 

Mr. Stephens is survived by his son: Jeff Stephens (Jan) of Holly Springs; daughters: Marsha Chambers (Michael) of Toccoa, GA, Becky Miller (Lee) of Walhalla, and Angie Duncan (Brian) of Westminster; many half – brothers and sisters; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his daughter: Teresa Moss; and many brothers and sisters.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Davenport Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Davenport Funeral Home.
