Clemson’s Green Crescent moves forward with kiosks in key spots

Before the end of the year, one half dozen information kiosks will have been placed in locations along the future Green Crescent Trails system in Clemson. The kiosks will provide maps, photos, and other information to alert walkers and bikers of current and planned pathways around the city. The Friends of the Green Crescent Trail and city of Clemson staff members chose strategic locations. They are Ashley Dearing Park off Berkeley Drive; the Green Crescent Pedestrian Bridge off Berkeley; Gateway Park off highway 93; Clemson Park off Frontage Road; the Clemson-Central Recreation Center off 93; and Nettles Park off Central Road. A study done two years ago called for multiple connections between the city of Clemson and the university. Because many students, faculty and staff live in the city and commute to campus, the new trails are an opportunity to lower automobile congestion.
