Clarence Lee Ayers

Walhalla, SC – Clarence Lee Ayers, 94, husband of the late Hazel Lena Smith Ayers, of 131 Keil Farm Road, Walhalla passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Richard Campbell Veteran’s Nursing Home.

 

A native of Mt. Airy, Georgia, Mr. Ayers was the son of the late Almon and Rachael Holbrooks Ayers. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Ayers was retired from Johnson and Johnson and was a member of Coneross Church of God.

 

Mr. Ayers is survived by his daughter: Linda McCracken of Walhalla; brothers: Billy and Junior Shedd; sisters: Vivian Ayers Norris and Ann Sloan; grandchildren: Tommy Ayers, Jr., April Barry and Amanda Ayers; nine great-grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his son: Tommy Ayers, Sr.; daughters: Carol Ayers and Deborah Ayers; brother: Rev. J.D. Shedd; sisters: Helen McCracken, Jean Thomas and Francis Evans; granddaughter: Connie McCracken; and great-grandson: Daniel Ayers.

 

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
