Civil filings in Oconee and Pickens courts

Defendant companies in the business of providing non-emergency transportation to doctors and other medical visits are being sued in Oconee County, on behalf of an Anderson County resident.  In pleadings filed in the Oconee Common Pleas Court, it’s alleged that plaintiff Christopher D. Davis sustained permanent and painful injuries when employees of the medical transport business dropped the plaintiff from a stretcher to the concrete ground.  The heading of the case title is Christopher D. Davis vs. Transportation on Demand, Inc.  A jury trial is requested.  In Pickens County, a wrongful death and survival action has been filed by the estate of Kelsi Merck, a 12-year old girl.  The lawsuit identifies Kelsi as a passenger in a car wreck in November 2019 who died of injuries when a vehicle driven by defendant Debbie Simmons hydroplaned in heavy rain on SC 135.
