Civil case alleges chain-of-command break in investigation

Pre-trial motions were argued this morning in an Oconee civil case that alleges a break in chain-of-command as part of an investigation of allegations that a county resident was sexually assaulted at a dance in Atlanta. The case is titled Jane Doe against Oconee Memorial Hospital and others. It’s a case that was docketed for summary judgment on today’s motions roster in the county Common Pleas Court. But Oconee Common Pleas is not the only venue where the dispute is being heard. According to lawyers on both sides, there’s a matter related to the case that is now before the state Court of Appeals in Columbia.
