City hall meetings to be resumed

The council chambers at Walhalla city hall are small and without windows, but the city’s elected officials believe they can make it safe to resume city meetings there by taking continuing precautions against the spread of COVID-19.  The mayor and council members are clearly more comfortable in their city hall setting and, after one year of meeting in the community depot meeting room, they voted last night to return to their council chambers.  Said Mayor Edwards:  “We can make it work.”  Brandon Burton, interim administrator, said he’s confident that chairs can be spaced properly and the wearing of masks will be a continued requirement.  The next scheduled council meeting will be April 20.
