Charles Vinson
Charles Romain Vinson, of Seneca, South Carolina, husband of the late Betty Capps Vinson, a Christian man, lifelong catfisher, and the quick-witted heart of his family entered his Heavenly home on December 3, 2025, at the remarkable age of 94.
Charles retired from Clemson University, where he devoted his life to the dairy farm. He was a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Seneca. Though he has cast his final line, his legacy of humor, love, faith, and family will continue to ripple through the lives of all who knew and cherished him.
He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Vinson of Seneca, Jerry “Rook” Vinson of Seneca, and Charles A. “Chuck” Vinson of Seneca; his daughter, Toni Owens of Seneca; and two grandchildren reared in the home, Jenny Vinson of Salem and Jodi Vinson of Seneca. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Barnes; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; his son, Doug Vinson; his daughter, Jean Vinson; and his siblings, Ray Vinson, Glenn Vinson, R.J. Vinson, Austin Vinson, Noah Vinson, Styles “Frog” Vinson, Sedalia Vinson, and Emma Crowder.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Sandifer Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm–2:00 pm on Sunday at Sandifer Funeral Home.
