Westminster police are reporting arrests. Chief Dean Awalt said five people were charged yesterday in a drug roundup investigation that stretched back six months. The police also arrested a woman in their investigation of a home burglary on Anderson Avenue.

Graham irked by inaction against ISIL

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) questioned Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey about the Obama Administration’s counter-ISIL strategy during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing.  Graham says, “Terrorist groups like ISIL are rich and growing while President Obama runs out the clock on his time in office,”

Old concrete being removed!

Concrete sidewalk is being taken up on a second block of Walhalla downtown.  Streetscape workers plan to leave a five-foot strip of access to Main Street businesses, between S. College and S. Catherine streets.  Once the concrete is removed, workers will continue the installation of a new water main.
