Change at the top of Oconee Planning Commission

The gavel at Oconee Planning Commission is in new hands.  During its first 2016 meeting, the commissioners last night elected David Ownbey chairman in place of Gwen McPhail.  Ownbey and McPhail contested for the position, decided by a vote of the commission.  In a second vote, William Childress defeated McPhail for the position of vice chair.

Meeting date adjusted

The annual members meeting of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority, originally planned for Monday night, January 11, has now been announced for the night of January 25.  101.7/WGOG NEWS has been told that several commissioners have simply said that, on the night of the national title game, they won’t be available to meet.
