The new Oconee Detention Center has opened with temporary telephone numbers.  Until the old lines can be transferred, until further notice, here’s the number to call:  864/638-2497.  In the case of emergency situations, you can also dial the E-911/Communications call center at 864/638-4111 and dispatchers can transfer the call or make contact.

Both lanes on parts of Clemson’s College Avenue are closed through Friday for construction work.  The affected parts of College Avenue are the blocks between Keith Street and Edgewood Avenue. Delays are predicted. Large trucks and buses will be allowed to pass through the construction zone, but other traffic will be diverted onto Sloan Street, Keith Street, and Edgewood Avenue.

Road work resumes tomorrow on U-S 76 from Pickens County in the direction of Pendleton.  Men and equipment will be working in a lane closure patching the road. Motorists are asked to pay attention to warning signs, flagmen, men and equipment.  If possible, take alternate routes. Use caution and slow speed when traveling through the work zone.
