Clemson graduation next week

More than 1,000 Clemson University students will receive degrees Friday, Aug. 5 at the summer graduation ceremony at Greenville’s Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Fire alarm sounded at office complex

At mid day yesterday, office workers and others doing business at Oconee’s administration building in Walhalla were forced to temporarily evacuate at the sound of the fire alarm. Walhalla Fire Department investigated, but found no fire.  A county official told us a child is suspected of having pulled the alarm.

Road work next week near Westminster

South Carolina DOT has sent word that there will be work on the Dr. John’s Road near Westminster for all of next week.  The work will take place between Brock Road and the bridge and starts Monday.  The work zone will be closed to local traffic only.  All other drivers will have to use designated detours.
