Two million Carolinians to travel this Thanksgiving

The motor club AAA Carolinas projects that two million Carolinians will journey 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving.  The projection breaks down to 1.4 million North Carolinians and 670 thousand South Carolinians.  The holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday to Sunday.  This year’s projected increase of 1.9% is spurred by improvements in the economy, including rising wages, […]

Oconee jobless rate falls to 4.5%

Unemployment in the county, the state, and the country is spiraling downward.  In the report for October, the Oconee jobless rate fell to 4.5%, from September 4.9%.  At 4.5%, Oconee’s rate is lower than both those of the state (4/7%) and the U-S (4.9%.)
