Burglary and theft charges against Utica man

A 24-year old Utica man was jailed late last week in an Oconee Sheriff’s Office investigation of burglary at a home in Utica.  The charges of grand larceny and first degree burglary against Robert Wesley Quarles II, 24 years old, arise from an April incident at a home on Padgett Street, Utica.  Clothes and electronic items were stolen, some of which has since been retrieved from other Utica homes and returned to their owner.  A deputy learned that the victim of the crimes was a woman who had been displaced from her home when power was lost during the EF3 tornado.
