Bohannon vote to be mischief-maker February 29

Oconee County’s Jim Bohannon, typically a Republican voter, will exercise his right to cast a ballot in the South Carolina Democrats’ February 29 Presidential preference primary. And, he concedes, that part of his motivation will be to make mischief. Bohannon is a national broadcaster and member of the radio hall of fame who is an avid follower of politics. We asked Bohannon to opine on a theory advanced to 101.7/WGOG NEWS by an Oconee Democrat that South Carolina Republicans will cross-over February 29 and cast votes for Bernie Sanders. It’s seen by some that Sanders might represent the easiest candidate for Republican incumbent Donald Trump to meet in November, should the two wind up paired on the General Election ballot. “That’s one theory,” Bohannon admits, “that vote for Bernie and force the Democrats to take a candidate who can’t win. My only answer to that is, but what if he did?” Bohannon’s full response to this can be heard on 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
