Benjamin “Ben” Charles Wood

Pendleton –Benjamin “Ben” Charles Wood, husband of Brittney Boggs Wood, passed away, August 28, 2019.

 

Born in ­­­Rabun County, GA, he was the son of Charles Wood and Tina Blackwell.  Ben was a graduate of Rabun County High School and Clemson University. He worked at Walker Golf Course and most recently as the assistant superintendent at The Cliffs. Ben was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during Operation Iraq Freedom and a member of the Clemson Student Veterans Association.

 

In, addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wood is survived by his two-year-old son, Beau Parker Wood; Brothers, Timothy Thompson of Tiger GA, Laeton Blackwell of Clayton GA, Kamden Blackwell of Clayton GA; Sisters, Emily Thompson of Clayton GA, Kassidy Blackwell of Clayton GA; maternal grandparents, Curtis and Glenda Blackwell of Otto NC; paternal Grandparent, Josephine Wood; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

 

Ben is preceded in death by a maternal grandparent, Bonnie Blackwell; and paternal grandparent, FM Wood.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Calvary Church of God with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends

6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, August 30, 2019, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
