Barricade situation ends with suspect in custody

A man who barricaded himself inside a Walhalla home came out after six hours and surrendered to the police who carried warrants for his arrest. Chief Sean Brinson said the situation Sunday, afternoon on N. Andover Drive ended peacefully, although the man was armed with a rifle. Brinson identified the arrested as Josh Richard Dills who faces five active General Sessions Court bench warrants. “We communicated with him and he came out of house and was placed under arrest,” Brinson said. The Walhalla police have charged Dills with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of marijuana, and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
