Arrest made in Oconee traffic accident

The highway patrol announced this afternoon the arrest of a man in the investigation of a late night accident Thursday that injured a second Hartwell man and that man’s eight-year old passenger.  It was a two-truck accident on the rural Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway 11 reported around 9:30 pm.  According to trooper Hovis, charged with felony DUI with great bodily injury is Michael Lee Murdock.  It’s believed Murdock was jailed in Walhalla.  Able Chavez-Bausita drove the truck that Hovis said was rear-ended in the accident.  Bausita and his passenger were airlifted for medical treatment and the section of the highway was blocked to passing traffic for about six hours.
