Amended Walhalla budget made final

Those who write down Walhalla numbers may put away pencil and paper.  The city council reached final agreement on a new budget for the government year that starts July 1.  On an amendment, the budget received its final reading last night at city hall, with one objection.  First-term Councilman Keehn explained that, to keep true to his campaign planks, registered a no vote.  The city’s financial picture the next 12 months changed to reflect Councilman Pace’s provision that it include an automatic 10% increase in sewer bills, if the Joint Regional Sewer Authority raises the wholesale treatment charge by 10% during 2022-23.  Anything over 10% would have to revert to city council for approval.
