ALVIN “BOB” WADE CHAMBERS

Seneca, SC— Alvin “Bob” Wade Chambers, 91, husband of the late Reba Findley Chambers, of Seneca, SC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Born and raised in Oconee County, Mr. Chambers was the son of the late J.P. Chambers and Dessie Cox Chambers. He retired as a weaving manager from J.P. Stevens after many years of dedicated service. Mr. Chambers was a member of Seneca Masonic Lodge #185 and Fairview Community Church in West Union.

Mr. Chambers is survived by a son: Ronald Chambers (Pamela); daughters: Deborah Robinson and Reba Thompson (Jerry); seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by a daughter: Janet Hutchins and her husband, Sandy; granddaughter: Tracey Flood; brothers: James Chambers and Billy Chambers; and sisters: Pauline Smith, Katherine Bottoms, and Helen Panuccio.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Fairview Community Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.

The family will be at their respective homes.
