Alice Jewel Broome Keasler, of Concord, North Carolina, loving wife of the late William Howard Keasler, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus, in Concord, NC, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 25, 1933, in Westminster, South Carolina, Alice was the daughter of the late Lee Kenneth Broome and Talsie Welborn Broome. She lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Alice was a devoted homemaker and also worked as a Teacher’s Aide, where she touched the lives of many children with her kindness and gentle spirit. She was a faithful and active member of McGill Baptist Church in Concord, North Carolina, where she participated wholeheartedly in church ministries and fellowship. She was also very active in her local Garden Club, where she enjoyed sharing her love of gardening and fellowship with friends. She will be fondly remembered for her warm heart and her special talent for making hand-pulled butter mints, a treat cherished by many. She was well known for “thrifting” before “thrifting” was cool. Alice could take a five-dollar bicycle and turn it into art by hanging it on her fence.

She is survived by her son, William Keasler (Beth) of Concord, NC; her daughter, Vivian Keasler of Southern Pines, NC; her brother, James Broome of Fairplay, SC; and her sisters, Margaret Crocker of West Union, SC, and Joanne Ponder of Westminster, SC. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Brennan Keasler, Crawford Keasler, Michael Buzzard, and Leigh Buzzard; and great-grandchildren, Harper Buzzard, Reid Buzzard, and Charlotte Buzzard.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lewis, Talford, Robert, and Randy Broome; and her sisters, Mary Lois Morehead, Katie Williams, Cindy Bearden, and Florence Anderson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at South Union Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes.
