A new generation of volunteer firefighters
A fire station that provides rescue and fire protection for residents north of Walhalla including Tamassee community sounds a call for volunteers. It’s the 61-year-old all-volunteer Pickett Post/Camp Oak Fire Department. Needed are highly-dedicated and motivated individuals to apply by email to [email protected]. The fire department is organized by the chief, followed by the ranks of assistant chief, captain, lieutenant, and firefighter. It operates from two locations: Station 14 at 7660 N. Highway 11 Walhalla and Station27 at 576 Cherokee Lake Road, Tamassee.
