A chat with the chairman

Paul Cain and Annie Caggiano recently got together for a talk about economic development and what Cain, as an Oconee County councilman, would like to see county government accomplish in the next year.  Cain also serves as the chairman of council’s economic and development committee.  Caggiano is the president/CEO of the public-private Oconee Economic Alliance that works to bolster economic activity in the county.  They spoke in front of the city-county industrial park property adjoining Utica community, and Cain expressed his hope that the creation of an economic development opportunity zone there will lead to job creation.  He also stressed the importance that piped sewer is going to mean in an area of southern Oconee that serves as the gateway into the state for motorists headed north from Georgia and elsewhere.
