Months of investigation lead to Townville man’s arrest
Multiple charges have been placed against a 21-year old Townville man in an Oconee Sheriff’s Office investigation that dates as far back as last summer when a camper fire occurred on Mark Lane, Townville. Shawn Lee Foote II was arrested Wednesday and, as late as this afternoon, remained jailed under a surety bond of more than $38 thousand. According to the sheriff’s office, the charges against Foote are arson second degree, driving under suspension, giving false information, reckless driving, possession of a stolen vehicle, and failure to stop for a blue light. The sheriff’s office identified the vehicle as a 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo, which Foote allegedly operated without the owner’s permission. The car was later found in Illinois.
