A University of South Carolina student from Walhalla, Cade Crenshaw, has taken a step toward a possible career in national sportscasting. On the SEC Plus network, Crenshaw called the action of a South Carolina-UNC Greensboro baseball game on Sunday, in which one of the more exciting plays and calls was a ninth-inning grand slam by a Gamecock batter that tied the game and sent it to extra innings. The Gamecocks ended up winning 8-7 in the bottom of the tenth inning. Crenshaw got a start broadcasting high school sports and working part-time at 101.7/WGOG. He is scheduled to do the play-by play for the SEC Network Plus on some other Gamecock baseball games this spring.
