General Sessions Court at the end of the month

Court officers tell 101.7/WGOG NEWS that the first week for a 2021 Oconee General Sessions term will be staged in a virtual courtroom only.  It means, says Deputy Solicitor Simmons, only cases involving inmates in the county jail will be processed.  A link on the South Carolina judicial department explains how a virtual courtroom works and explains how the public can follow.  The week will see pleas only.  All jury trials, out of consideration for COVID spread, have been suspended indefinitely.  The week of county General Sessions will start Monday, January 25, with resident jurist Scott Sprouse presiding.
