Local Halloween Activities Adjusted Due to Weather

Due to the possibility of rain that is in the forecast, there have been some postponements and changes to some of the Halloween activities across the Golden Corner.

First, Boo on Main in Westminster has been moved from tonight to tomorrow night from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm.

The Second Annual “Boo with the Blue” at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in Walhalla has been moved indoors. Weather permitting, trick or treaters will be permitted to come into the downstairs lobby at the Law Enforcement Center to receive candy and meet the Sheriff’s Office staff from 4 pm until 7 pm. The Sheriff’s Office vehicle lights will be on and displayed outside in the Sheriff’s Office parking lot.

The Walhalla police and fire departments are holding their “Boo in the Bay” at the fire department from 5 to 8 pm tonight.

In Seneca, Mayor Dan Alexander said that the city will make a final decision around 2 pm today in regards to whether the final Jazz on the Alley and Halloween on the Green activities take place downtown tonight. The Mayor said that food would not be served, however, the city would go ahead and set up under the covered walkway on Main Street to hand out candy. Also, the Halloween costume contest will be judged as well.
