$500k-plus job to be awarded to trail design service

A state grant will allow Walhalla to pay for phase three expansion of its Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park.  The city administrator last night was authorized to work out the particulars with Black Diamond Trail Design for lengthening the mountain bike trail from 10 to 20 miles.  The city’s grant approximates $526 thousand.  Trail promoter Darlene Greene believes the expansion will make Walhalla a destination place for mountain biking.  She’d like to see the park be accorded the destination of an “Epic Ride Center” –the only one of its kind on the East Coast.
