The sports world was stunned Wednesday by news that Notre Dame star linebacker and Heisman Trophy finalist Manti Te’o's girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, who had supposedly died of leukemia in September, apparently never existed, with Deadspin.com being unable to find any record of her and discovering that online photos of her really were of another woman. Te’o is claiming he was the victim of a “Catfish” online romance hoax, and Notre Dame is standing by him, but there are questions about whether he was involved in the hoax.
