John Covington, Seneca police chief, said he was attempting to learn the condition of a 64-year old Virginia man injured in a parking lot accident Thursday afternoon on By-Pass 123. The police investigation determined that, from a parked position, a pickup truck rolled backward, knocking owner Lester Wayne Earley to the pavement. Earley apparently had gotten out of the truck to inspect something wrong, according to Master Patrol Sgt. Alan Syare. The truck wound up wedged at a downward angle, between Joe’s Pizza and Mullen’s Irish Pub. Earley was placed on a stretcher for a trip to the hospital.
