A 45-year old Oconeean was ordered to spend 40 years in prison, having been found guilty this afternoon of criminal sexual conduct with a minor first degree. Steven Gregory Frost could have been put away anywhere from 25 years to life. The victim in the case was a nine-year old girl. She was told afterward by the judge that she did the right thing by testifying against Frost. The defendant did not testify in his defense, nor did his side offer any witnesses. Judge Cordell Maddox passed sentence after hearing that Frost had a long criminal record dating back to 1984 and, at the time of his latest crime, had been put of prison only 15 days.
