Vandals strike Blue Ridge Field

Vandals in recent weeks created havoc at Seneca’s Blue Ridge Field. And the recreation director says the police are trying to find the culprits. According to Rick Lacey, recreation director, vandals kicked down a door and pulled down electric conduit. And that damaged the lighting system. Seneca and the community have high hopes for the restoration of an athletic field that had been the hallmark of what once was Blue Ridge High School. Three years ago, Seneca dedicated the Blue Ridge Field Heritage Park which, at the time, was thought to have been the first public park on the state’s National Heritage Corridor to stem from a former all African-American high school.
