South Carolina’s Chief Justice says the pace with which the courts handle criminal cases is unacceptable. And Chief Justice Jean Toal pledged to South Carolina lawmakers she’ll push a project to bring cases to court quicker. Apparently, solicitors will no longer have sole responsibility as to when a case is called and clerks of court will share the call as to when a case is tried.
