At a City Hall press conference in Seneca this morning, officials announced plans for the construction of a new Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton hotel project on East North First Street behind Seneca Bank and Trust.  Members of Oconee County Council, and Oconee’s legislative delegation were on hand for the announcement from Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander and City Administrator Greg Dietterick.  The hotel project is a partnership between the City of Seneca and Oconee County.  The hotel project is an investment close to $10 million dollars, according to Alexander.  Dietterick said the hotel will employ around 100 people and construction is expected to be completed by the Fall of 2013.
